I never played the Last of Us. But I heard it was an amazing game.

I've played the Last of Us 3 times now, currently on my 4th time. Each time I get excited if I find one letter or something I didn't find before. I love this game so much. People who complain about the "physics" of the game don't like video games.

Play Heavy-Rain, the emotional turmoil is even worse.

Only if you count severe bouts of bewilderment due to awful writing/pacing as emotional turmoil.

It's good that you started with FC4. It will only make you fall in love with TLoU even more.

Far Cry has to be the most beautiful game I have ever played thou, the map itself is insane and the attention to detail is unreal.

I haven't played Far Cry 4 just because Far Cry 3 story was so atrocious but yea they do really well on the visual aspects.

You really should, Left Behind adds so much exposition to Ellie's back story and really gives you context for her motivations during the main storyline. Of course knowing all that makes Joel's decision that much more horrible :|

I've finished both the main game and Left Behind 8 or 9 times so you can guess how I feel about it, but I've always argued the game is more a vehicle for the story than anything. It wasn't meant to be a ground-breaking combat sim and expecting otherwise is just spoiling an otherwise incredible experience.
If you haven't already go look up a guide for all the optional conversations for the game, it's little things like that that add so much to the story.

It might be worth trying to borrow a PS3 or PS4 from someone to play it, or even going on Craigslist: I bought a PS3 specifically to play it, and it was the main reason I got a PS4. The Last of Us is that good of a game.
